Of all the lost treasures of the world, Amber Room is one of the most famous. A room that was built completely from the gold-encrusted yellow and gold leaf, so incredibly beautiful that has long been known as the Eighth Wonders of the World.
Building which was built in the year 1709, it was a place of King of Prussia until he gave as a gift to Russian Tsar Peter the Great in 1716. It remained in Russia for more than two hundred years and then disappeared.
When the Nazis invaded Leningrad (St Petersburg) in 1941, the Soviets tried to hide their famous treasures. Tp however, not easily fooled nazi. It took 36 hours to retrieve the contents of the Amber Room in the ark, and the train was brought to the German city of Konigsberg. Read More
